Establishment purpose and history

The academy aims to promote education, research, academic activities,and practical development, along with an exchange of academic information with academies and clinical nursing-related organizations, and to promote friendship among its members.

    02The first publication of ‘The Journal of the Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing’ began as an academic journal of The Korean Academy of the Fundamentals of Nursing, followed by publication of Volume 1, No.2 in December, with publication twice annually.

    00Research funding support for projects of The Academy of the Fundamentals of Nursing began by a selection of applicants through research fund contests with a focus on members of The Academy of the Fundamentals of Nursing.

    01With the theme of health assessment and rehabilitation, overseas training programs were started at CAPE(Hawaii) and The University of Hawaii, initiating overseas training programs under the supervision of The Academy of the Fundamentals of Nursing.
    09Foreign educational data (26 film strips and 3 videos) on fundamental nursing was imported, translation and recording in Korean was implemented and the sale of educational materials for fundamental nursing began after undergoing a preview.

    00At the 16th general meeting of the Korean Academy of Nursing, it was renamed as The Academy of the Fundamentals of Nursing, according to the decision to delete the name of each branch.

    00Revision of national examination issues was entrusted to the Academy, and the Academy became the main body. Fundamental nursing professors began to collect and supervise national examination issues.
